Client: FAS Developments

Location: Jacobs Bakery Liverpool

Project Overview:

We were asked to supply and install a combined access scaffold and dust protection screen either side of doorways at a live food factory. The client was enlarging the openings, and the works needed to be completed without interrupting production. Maintaining dust protection and hygiene compliance was essential to safeguard ongoing operations and ensure the factory continued running safely.

Scope of Works:

  • Erection of access scaffolding around a doorway to support safe brickwork removal.

  • Installation of fully enclosed dust protection screens using flame-retardant Monoflex sheeting.

  • All seams and joints taped and sealed for complete containment.

  • Zip-doorway installed for safe, controlled access for contractors.

Challenges:

  • Working in a live food production facility with strict hygiene requirements.

  • Ensuring dust protection without disrupting production.

  • Providing safe, practical access for contractors during structural work.

Our Solution:

We designed a bespoke scaffold and dust protection enclosure to meet the client’s hygiene and operational needs.

  • The scaffold provided safe, stable platforms for contractors to work on.

  • Fully sealed Monoflex sheeting ensured complete dust protection throughout the work zone.

  • A zip-doorway allowed controlled entry and exit without breaking containment.

  • Works were carefully coordinated around production schedules, enabling contractors to complete brickwork removal and doorway enlargement safely and efficiently.

By combining practical access, full dust protection and close coordination with the client’s team, we delivered a safe, hygienic, and fully contained work zone that protected production and maintained compliance with food safety standards.
