Client: Pladis
Location: McVitie's Manchester
Project Overview:
We were engaged to supply and install hygienic scaffold enclosures to support a programme of flooring upgrades at McVitie’s Stockport. The works had to be completed without interrupting production, requiring strict hygiene controls and careful planning.
Scope of Works:
Erection of multiple scaffold tents and enclosures directly over flooring upgrade zones.
Structures built from scaffold frames and sheeted with flame-retardant polythene or Monoflex.
Fully sealed, self-contained areas designed to allow flooring contractors to break out and re-lay floors without risk of contamination to adjacent production lines.
Challenges:
Working within a live food production environment with stringent hygiene requirements.
Preventing dust, debris, and contaminants from affecting surrounding operations.
Providing safe, practical access for contractors while maintaining sealed enclosures.
Our Solution:
We designed and installed hygienic scaffold enclosures tailored to the client’s requirements. Each enclosure was fully sealed, with all seams carefully taped to prevent dust escape, and fitted with airlock entry points at locations specified by the client to maintain containment while allowing safe access for contractors. The works were coordinated around production schedules, ensuring flooring upgrades could progress efficiently without disruption to McVitie’s operations. This approach delivered safe, hygienic, and fully contained work zones that safeguarded food safety
