Client: Heritage Hygienic
Location: Food Pro, Wigan
Scope of Works:
Erected an internal birdcage scaffold with a protection deck to allow safe replacement of ceiling tiles above an active food production area. Additionally, we constructed an external loading bay scaffold to facilitate materials movement.
Challenges:
Maintaining strict hygiene standards was critical to prevent contamination in the live food production environment. Production needed to continue uninterrupted throughout the ceiling tile replacement works.
Our Solution:
We used hygienic, clean scaffold components and plastic boards for the internal birdcage scaffold. The protection deck once boarded and then covered with flame-retardant polyethylene sheeting and flame-retardant Corex protective boards, with all seams carefully taped. This system ensured no debris could fall through onto the production floor below, maintaining a safe and contamination-free environment.
An external loading bay scaffold was built to enable the contractor to cut a hole in the wall, removing old ceiling tiles safely and bringing in new ones without disrupting production.
