Secure Access Towers for Roof Works at Manchester Student Accommodation

Scope of Works:

Erected two access towers on either side of the building, connected by demarcation handrails, to provide safe access for roof works.

Challenges:

The site had strict operating hours limiting when scaffold erection and dismantling could take place. Security was a key concern, requiring measures to prevent unauthorised climbing. The scaffold had to be dismantled immediately after the roofing work was completed.

Our Solution:

We constructed two access towers linked by secure handrails to ensure safe movement between them. Both towers were fitted with ranch board hoarding to prevent climbing and enhance site security. Rope and wheels were installed on the towers to facilitate easier and quicker dismantling in line with the site’s tight schedule. Our team coordinated closely with the client to ensure all work was carried out within the permitted hours and scaffolds were removed promptly after completion.
